I think almost any kind of berries would do an excellent job,I have blackberries so I will try them out :)

I might try this with some raspberries I picked earlier on in the year - blueberries are so expensive over here...

Eliz Baird was my homeroom teacher in Grade 7 - Toronto. I think she is a better cook/baker than French teacher but if you see her ...dont tell her I said so? All the best from the KS prairies !

You'll Need:
2 cup(s) , Blueberries
2 tablespoon(s) , Lemon Juice
1 cup(s) , Flour
2 teaspoon(s) , Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon(s) , Salt
1/2 teaspoon(s) , Nutmeg
1 3/4 cup(s) , Sugar
1/2 cup(s) , Milk
1 large , Egg
1/4 cup(s) , Butter Melted
1 teaspoon(s) , Vanilla
1 tablespoon(s) , Cornstarch
1 cup(s) , Boiling Water
Procedures : Place blueberries and lemon juice in an 8x8 inch pan. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and 3/4 cup sugar. Beat in milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla. Spread over berries. Mix 1 cup sugar with cornstarch and sprinkle over batter. Pour boiling water over all. Bake at 350? for 40 - 50 minutes
