Jell-o meets Cool Whip in this wobbly molded dessert. I made this for my Culinate.com column, Spaghetti on the Wall.
You'll Need: 3 (3 ounce) packages gelatin, in 3 contrasting, complementary flavors and colors, as desired 1 (3 ounce) package lemon gelatin Water 1 cup hot pineapple juice 1 3/4 cups whipped topping or whipped cream Procedures : Prepare the 3 gelatin flavors of your choice separately, using 1 cup boiling water and 1/2 cup cold water for each. Pour into separate greased 8-inch square pans and chill until set, about 4 hours. Cut each flavor into 1/2-inch cubes.
Dissolve the lemon gelatin in the hot pineapple juice, and then add 1/2 cup cold water. Keep in the mixing bowl and chill in the refrigerator until it starts to set, which takes about 45 minutes.
Blend the whipped topping or whipped cream with the partially set lemon gelatin. Fold in the gelatin cubes and pour into a greased 9-inch tube pan. Chill until firm, at least 4 hours. Unmold and cut into slices.
You'll Need: 1 1/2 cups crushed pretzels 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup butter, melted 1 (12 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk 1/2 cup water 1 small box instant vanilla pudding mix 1 3/4 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed 1 (21 ounce) can raspberry pie filling Procedures : Combine pretzels, sugar and butter in large bowl and mix well. Press into bottom of 13 x 9-inch pan and set aside.
Combine sweetened condensed milk and water in a large bowl. Stir in pudding mix and beat for 2 minutes with wire whisk or egg beater. Refrigerate pudding for 10 minutes to set slightly.
Fold in whipped topping and carefully spread on pretzel crust. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 to 2 hours.
Spread raspberry pie filling over the pudding mixture. Cover and refrigerate until firm. Store in refrigerator.

Ali Toggle пишет: @ deaartemis what country are you from?
How To Cook That пишет: Hi deaartemis, yes it sounds like the same thing cream can be whipped and will go thick. The cream we buy here is unsweetened and around 30% fat. (Here creme patisserie is a custard used in pastries which is different) Has your brulee 'split' so it looks like oil with little lumps of custardy stuff in it? If so the temp was too high or the water on the outside of the dish did not come up as high as the brulee on the inside. If the brulee boils it will split.

How To Cook That пишет: hi bb8taloovver, cream is the fat that rises to the top of fresh milk that has not been processes or homogenized. You can usually buy it, if you see the instagram cake recipe I asked in the video for people to let me know what it was called where they lived and there are so many different names for it in the comments.

Ms12elizabeth пишет: Yum!
How To Cook That пишет: Hi deaartemis, thanks someone else alerted me to that on the website so it has been fixed. When a cow is milked if the milk is left to stand the cream, or fat in the milk, rises to the top and can be scooped off. Most full cream milk here is homogenized to make the cream into tiny enough particles so that it stays in the milk and does not rise to the top any more. Skim milk has had the cream removed.
How To Cook That пишет: Hi Remi, when I was in the states i checked the heavy cream and it is the same as cream here, except here they add a minute amount of gelatin so that it looks a little thicker but it makes no difference in the recipe.
01poppyblue пишет: Oh I wish I could eat cream. That looked sooooo yummy :)
D пишет: Thank you for your reply! The closest thing that I've found here is whipping cream (it says creme patisserie on the box, but it's meant to be whipped up and it's very liquid), but my creme brulee turned out very greasy and it wouldn't set properly when I used it. Could you please tell me what is the fat percentage in the cream you're using? Is your cream sweetened? I'm sorry I'm asking so much, it's just that it's my favorite dessert, and I've been unable to recreate it :(

Come along for the ride on our Culinary Road Trip across the United States. Let's get started with this Hawaiian Luau dessert!
Music written, recorded, and produced by Aaron Prim
Ingredients:
1 cup milk 1 can coconut milk 1/2 cup sugar 2/3 cup corn starch 1 pinch of salt
Directions:
Cook coconut milk over medium heat in saucepan until hot. In a separate bowl, combine milk, sugar, corn starch, and salt and mix until thoroughly mixed. Combine into coconut milk on the stove and whisk until it thickens, to avoid lumps and burning, into a thick, yogurt-like consistency. Pour into a 9x9" pan, spread evenly, and chill in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours, until cold. Cut and serve.

WARNING: Cutting aluminum cans will give the metal very sharp edges. Sharp edges can cut skin. You may want to use gloves to mitigate any risk. Hot coals also pose a number of risks. Be aware of risk posed by open fires. This project should only be attempted with adult supervision and adequate training. Use of this video content is at your own risk.
This was probably one of my kids favorite projects, because they got to eat the results. Even my wife was impressed with my mad cooking skills :) And I can't tell you how hard it was not to eat the s'mores right away while filming them. So tempting!
When roasting marshmallows for s'mores, I had taken note of how difficult it was to get them nice and gooey without catching them on fire. Most times, the marshmallows spontaneously light off, and burn a black skin of carbon all around the outside. Although this is fun, but doesn't taste that great.
In this project I attempted to take a common campfire item, like a drink can, and modify it into a roaster, that would soften chocolate and marshmallows to s'more perfection.
I was really happy with the results, as well as how versatile the roaster turned out to be. It can be used in a lot of different ways, and definitely helps mitigate the risk of marshmallows catching on fire, and chocolate that falling off when trying to balance it over a fire.

Jessica Millian пишет: NOW I'M HUNGRY :( You'll Need: 1 tablespoon plain gelatine powder 1/4 cup cold water 6 tablespoons granulated sugar Dash of salt 1 3/4 cup hot strong coffee Procedures : Soak gelatine in cold water for five minutes. Add remaining ingredients and stir. Chill until firm.
You'll Need: Crepes 1 cup rice flour 2 egg yolks 1 cup fresh* or canned unsweetened coconut milk 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 2 to 4 tablespoons water Oil or butter for greasing skillet
Filling 2 egg whites, beaten to soft peaks 1/4 cup palm sugar** or granulated sugar 1/4 cup black sesame seeds 1/4 cup finely-grated fresh coconut 2 tablespoons chopped green onions Procedures : Combine rice flour, egg yolks, coconut milk, sugar and 2 tablespoons water in bowl and whisk until smooth. Batter should be consistency of traditional Western crepe batter. If necessary, add additional coconut milk or water to thin.
Lightly grease skillet with oil and drop tablespoons of batter onto skillet, spreading each with back of spoon to form a 3-inch circle. Fry 1 minute and turn.
Spread each crepe with a little beaten egg white, then palm sugar and cook 1 minute more. Sprinkle with coconut, black sesame seeds and green onions. Fold crepes in half like tacos (they must still be warm) and cool on wire rack.
Continue frying, filling and folding crepes in batches, until all ingredients are used up. Makes 2 dozen or 4 to 6 servings.
* Coconut milk is made by mixing hot water with freshly grated coconut. For 1 cup freshly-grated coconut, add 1 cup boiling water. Let mixture stand 5 minutes, then strain, pressing to extract all liquid.
** Palm sugar is a moist, beige-colored sweetener derived from the sap of a palm tree. It can be found at Asian markets. If unavailable, substitute maple sugar, date sugar, light brown sugar or granulated white sugar
