SadeIsAwesome пишет: Actually no im not being ignorant. Im just trying to prove to you that it's only natural not to understand an accent that is different from yours sometimes. I can understand a normal or "non-slang" british accent (if that makes any sense). Basically like the one in this video. But sometimes when I watch One Direction interviews there may be a few times when I may not know a word or two of what they're saying. But Im not ignorant. But whatever... for some reason a lot of ppl hate on americans

ZuccottiPark пишет: @myalouis911 Arrogance doesn't cause language to change, common usage does. Language is ever changing. The english that they spoke in England 1000 years ago wouldn't make much sense to today's english speakers.

MerrilyWeTROLL пишет: You're absolutely right, that's how to do it!

I use the heavy cast iron Lodge wok on my wimpy gas stove to build up the heat and keep it going.

I think they're using a non-stick Teflon wok in this video which is a very bad idea. Teflon breaks down and becomes toxic under the very high heat needed for proper stir-fry.

gnoccafan пишет: get real. you can not expect english and american english to be exactly the same. europe follows too much of what the british do. americans is what it is today. they made america the way they wanted it. all different styles, taste, and so on. you either like it or you don't. we don't all have to folllow the same rules but it would be easier if you say words the proper way . it may there way of talking but you are not going to find those words in america in use somuch.

James Smith пишет: Same here. People get too stuck in tradition and not thinking about expanding their minds. I agree the dish looks great.

Kamerön Alderson пишет: @robertngo3012 That wasnt stir fry? Ok.. Lets define stir fry buddy.. To stir... To mix, toss, and turn an object. To fry.. To use oil at the bottom of pot or pan to cook quickly. She used oil.. She fried...She was stirring.. So.... Stir.. Fry..

gnoccafan пишет: american is not obligated or force in so many ways of how to live like the british or the europeans.americans don't take everything serious like europe and british do. maybe those words in british was used more often in american than maybe we all would not be talking about it now. not everyone in this world watches nigella, jamie, or gordon. there are other famous chefs besides them that cook great that are american and cook just as good as some famous british chef.

Grape Powa пишет: alright im chinese and she sucks hahah and that rice is shit. not the kind of fluffy white rice asians like.

robert ngo пишет: terrible cooking. That is not stir fry

Jehan Music пишет: Damn was her voice sexy. . . . well, she had some general sexiness going on. She should make a show with Nigella and you'd have a cooking show with an exclusively male audience!

I whip that dish up tonight!

kasiadawson пишет: he said 'ching' - thats her name, hehe

SadeIsAwesome пишет: I'm american and I understand everything they're saying. So don't call every single american ignorant. You're ignorant for classifying all americans as ignorant. First of all their accent is obviously different from americans and americans who are not used to hearing british accents esp. strong ones will not understand what they're saying. Let a british person who's not used to hearing americans talk listen to an american who speaks fast with a strong accent and see if they understand. Exactly!

Jeneral28 пишет: True.

liuzhou пишет: This isn't Chinese food and Thompson is a dick.

blognewb пишет: @gnoccafan more like Americans change words around. Just so you know, the English language is native to English people, in the country of England, of the United Kingdom.

cdmharley пишет: i'd stir fry her anyday!!!

Dan Webster пишет: What kind of oil was that?

Mya Louis пишет: @ZuccottiPark I know but Americans changed their words around because of arrogance. They had pride in their country. They wanted to really prove that they were independent.

Sandoval Qureshi пишет: Was he a shop lifter ?

keewees пишет: but you are being just as ignorant as you claim i was now :P

ZuccottiPark пишет: @myalouis911 Uh.....ok. Any sources to back this up? Or just a hunch?

tulalids пишет: i don't know what garam masala taste like, so i could not tell you it's same or not. but the five spice that she use here is basically Chinese five spice which is made from cinnamon, cloves, star anise, sichuan pepper, and fennel seeds. you can find it at asian supermarket.

SadeIsAwesome пишет: That's funny because Ive seen some British people not understand American accents. Like im pretty sure you wouldn't understand a Red Neck American accent. Just like I wouldn't understand a cockney british accent. Plus if an American talked very very fast with a strong accent you wouldn't understand it because you're not used to hearing an accent different from yours talk fast.

SAM JACME пишет: This JOKER does not know an oyster from a clitoris

ItsaStringThing пишет: I just made this and I say it is great... if you have ever had chinese Soy Sauce Chicken, it's like that only it doesn't take 4 hours of simmering. Very nice flavour from the five spice powder. I have to admit, I thought it was going to be rather ordinary just by seeing it in the video, but it actually tastes a lot better than it looks.

gnoccafan пишет: this is a good video but british sure know how to change words around And get it confusing for other people . corn flour is cornstarch. redchili spice is red chili flakes. icing sugar is confectioners sugar, caster sugar is shortening and even when they get married the preacher is making the bride and groom to have witness instead bridesmaid and to sign marriage papers in front of others. america does not use it in this way. today i had to look up the word icing sugar. confusing in my language

badmuthafucka23 пишет: u can cook 4 me anytime babe

up4itgal пишет: I agree. I hate it when chefs get up their own arse going about 'if you don't do it their way, then it's not the proper way' so snobbish! People cook and tweak and put their own accent on things and we can all learn from each other, just as chefs do so they have no business looking down their noses at our cooking.

Mya Louis пишет: @ZuccottiPark just a hunch but you can google it I don't feel like doing that. But there's nothing wrong with being arrogant and there's nothing wrong with being American so I don't want you to think I'm being rude.I think the reason why some American words are different from British words is because when Americans got their independence they wanted to prove their independence even more by changing some of the words up

2 shallots
6 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons fresh ginger
2 tablespoons Chinese five-spice powder
1 serrano pepper
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground anise seed
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 pounds bone-in chicken parts

Procedures : In a blender or food processor, blend the soy sauce, oil, sherry, shallots, garlic, ginger, Chinese five-spice powder, serrano pepper, brown sugar, anise, and salt until smooth. Place the chicken in a large bowl. Pour the blended mixture over the chicken, cover, and marinate at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
Preheat grill for high heat.
Lightly oil the grill grate. Discard marinade. Place chicken on the grill, and cook 10 minutes on each side, or until juices run clear
