I love the different textures...caramel layer, creamy layer and chewy top layer. Man, think I'll go make one now. I don't think we ever put ours in the refrigerator though, it sets up just fine by itself. Thanks for posting.

Oh thank u for your reply! I have found that at Ace Hardware they sell them. They are called Heat Diffusers and they only cost $2.00! I love her idea of doing that. Scorching can ruin nearly everything and I thank her for that little tip; and of course that AWESOME RECIPE!!! DELICIOUS!!!!! Hats off to Roma and Gods blessings upon her!!!

I've also done a maple variation where I reduce a cup of maple to about half its volume, which takes about 20 minutes or so, and then add it into the sugar cream just after I add the majority of the half and half.
Roma, you're amazing!!! Thanks for sharing your genius!
Much love from Canada :D

Alan Hemenway пишет: Roma has out-lived 4 of her 12 kids. She has worked hard had a very difficult life due to family situations, but as I see it, she is able to insulate herself from the stress of life by trusting the Lord. Her phone is always ringing. She spends a lot of time on her feet cooking and showering visitors with her cooking. She's still active in church and volunteers at the Salvation Army. Staying physically, mentally, and spiritually active is what keeps her going; I had a piece of that pie. Ummm!

I now live on the west coast and you can't find them anywhere & when I go to bakery shops or visit the baker section of my local supermarket to ask about sugar cream pies they act as tho they don't know what im talking about. Last year I searched online and found a bakery in Indiana that will ship pies to u but now thanks to Ms Kiser & this video i can actually make my favorite pie in my own kitchen.

Alan Hemenway пишет: @Hevinlee She didn't know what it is called. It was a skinny bar bent into the shape of a pentagon, made of material that won't distort with heat. Roma will be 102 on 9/11. Yesterday she made a strawberry/rhubarb pie for the birthday of her 12th-born. She is starting to lose her sight and hearing. Her heart and lungs are good. She has to watch her sugar, and she's got all her marbles. She's smarter than all of us.
