I read where some people use a half of chimney of unlit coals then add a half chimney of lit coals on top. I live at about 3200ft above sea level so I know that changes things somewhat. I got a passion for grilling and im trying my best to learn as much as I can.

Sweet Lord, those ribs must taste heavenly! Here comes my problem - I don't have a smoker like in the video, just a Weber like the bbq pit boys use otherwise for barbeque and grilling. Will that work??? Please somebody tell me! I'm new to this type of cooking and have never done ribs before.
I appreciate every piece of advice I can get to come as close as possible to those mouth-watering ribs!
Thanks a lot in advance.

SANB 777 пишет: Can you use charcoal in a gas grill when cooking with indirect heat by putting it in a smoker box? I heard that its okay, but it does damage to the hardware in the long run. Thoughts?

darkprose пишет: For this I'm gonna need a couple racks of ribs and a bottle of good whiskey. On second thought, forget the ribs. ;-)

ansmerek пишет: @welfaremillionaire When in doubt add a bit more charcoal and close the air vents, if you still can't get the temps down enough just add a pot of liquid to the direct side of the grill. You can use strait water in it, or beer, juice, whatever you want. With the ribs in a sauce higher temps may not even matter that much

You'll Need:

5 lb pork spare ribs
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 beef bouillon cube
3/4 cup water,boiling
1 tsp oil
1 can pineapple,crushed,undrained
1/4 cup brown sugar,dark,firm packed
1 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup water,cold

Procedures : Cut ribs to form individual portions; sprinkle with 1 tsp salt.
Place ribs on a rack in a shallow baking pan; bake in preheated 375'F. oven until almost tender, 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Drain off fat.
Meanwhile, dissolve bouillon cube in boiling water in a medium-size saucepan.
Add oil, pineapple, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce and remaining salt; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes.
Combine cornstarch with cold water in a small bowl; stir into sauce mixture. Cook and stir until thickened.
Spoon sauce over drained, baked ribs.
Increase oven temperature to 425'F.; bake until nicely glazed, about 30 minutes
