This caramel apple crisp is SO easy to make, and is unbelievably delicious! It's perfect for fall baking and is one of the best desserts out there.
For the Topping:
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup turbinado sugar, or brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
6 tbsp cold unsalted butter, cubed
1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
For the Filling:
2 lbs Granny Smith Apples
3 tbsp caramel sauce or brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp lemon juice
For serving:
Vanilla Ice Cream
Extra caramel sauce
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Start with the topping. Combine the flour, both sugars, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. Add the butter cubes and break them down into the mixture by using the tips of your fingers to rub the butter and dry ingredients together. Stir in the rolled oats, then put the entire bowl into the freezer or refrigerator while you work on the apples.
Peel, core, and cut the apples into small chunks. Toss well with the caramel sauce, cinnamon, salt, and lemon juice. Pour this mixture into an 8x8 baking dish, then sprinkle the crumb topping evenly all over the top. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour, until golden brown and bubbling. Serve with ice cream and extra caramel. Enjoy!

Fifteen Spatulas пишет: Copied and pasted from another response: That's right, I didn't. When I need a recipe to be precise, I weigh it because I don't think scooping and leveling out is precise enough. As Ariane Aimee mentioned in her comment, it doesn't really matter here, and I know when I need to be super precise and when I don't. Usually when I make this I actually don't measure anything at all. The amounts listed here I did develop and test, so if you follow it you should be good to go =)
