i would be grateful if you'll mention a vegetarian alternative when you use meat :) what i usually do is just dropping the meat off from your recipe.. what else could i add to enrich the flavor?

Sander Kalsbeek пишет: It's similar to sour cream.

GabeGT пишет: Make your own Creme Freche. Take some whipping cream (35%) Pour it in a mason jar. Add a couple spoonfuls of plain yogurt with ACTIVE Culture bacteria. Must be active. Check the ingredients. Cover with a small towel and leave on your counter for a day or two. Stir once in a while every couple of hours. When you see it thicken up pop it into your fridge. After another day in the fridge it should be ready.

It takes a while to make, but it's really nice to try.

Ankylophobia пишет: there aren't really any decent meatless substitutes for bacon. it's like having a fruitless substitute for an apple. that being said, it would be fine without, but more than a little bland. I would put some red bell peppers and/or some mushrooms in it. if you're making a smaller batch, maybe some knobs of goat cheese on top when you're serving

You'll Need:

12 to 15 slices of bacon
1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
2 garlic cloves minced
16 ounces cooked and drained penne pasta
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 cups heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup sliced green onions

Procedures : Cook bacon until crisp, remove and drain on paper towels and crumble.

Reserve 2 tablespoons bacon drippings in same skillet, add mushrooms and garlic and cook until tender. Stir in cooked pasta and the next three ingredients. Simmer over medium to low heat stirring often until sauce is thickened. Stir in bacon and green onions, mixing to incorporate.

Serve hot
