How To Make Italian Bread - Detailed steps for making Italian Bread Dough by Hand

Описание:

Making Italian Bread by hand like grandma did! Very detailed steps.
Detailed recipe found here:
http://www.spaghettisauceandmeatballs...

I also used this bread recipe for my Stromboli and Sausage bread. Good stuff!

Sure, you could use a bread machine, but there is something magical to making your own bread by hand.

Even used to use Semolina flour. The best result I have found yet is the combination of bread flour and regular all-purpose non-bleached flour. I get the texture I'm looking for with this mixture. Hold up well with the olive oil. These large metal bowls are fantastic for the spinning while you mix. really helps!

SpaghettiSauceAndMeatballs.Com пишет: yes, making bread is one of those things you have to practice. There are so many things that can make the bread come out slightly different. Temperature of the room, humidity, etc. I've heard cooking is an art and baking is a science, but I like to thinking baking is an art as well :-) Happy baking!

URAMACROMOLECULE пишет: The work was totally worth it, and patience was definitely key. Thanks for the detailed instructions. The bread was perfect and thanks for those tips. I will continue to use them as I continue with my bread baking adventures. The two loafs of bread were rather large, which was obviously a great reward!!!

Summer Noybn пишет: can you tell me why the oil must be added during the kneeding process instead of in the beginning mixing? Seems like it makes the kneeding go slower and become a sticky mess... ive made bread before with oil, and though im not completely happy with the way it came out, a little heavy for me, everyone else loved it, im looking for modifications so if adding the oil at this point changes something, lemme know please. Thanks for puting the time and energy into this!

SpaghettiSauceAndMeatballs.Com пишет: Glad you enjoyed it. There is something magical about making bread by hand like grandma did. Almost therapeutic! :-) Working with the dough, the smell of the yeast. It's all quite wonderful!

SpaghettiSauceAndMeatballs.Com пишет: haha.. no it's Gravy :-) It's a USA North East thing.

SpaghettiSauceAndMeatballs.Com пишет: Adding all the oil in the beginning would be even messier. Gradually adding the olive oil in while kneading actually allows you to add a large amount of olive oil to the dough which adds the flavor and helps getting the end result of a heavy Italian bread with a hint of olive oil flavor. Wonderful! It does make the kneading process longer, but to me I think the end result is worth it.

SpaghettiSauceAndMeatballs.Com пишет: You can make the same recipe without the olive oil. Actually I made it that way for years before I stated adding the olive oil in. I personally like the bread a lot better with the added olive oil.
