Warescrackdown пишет: From knife semi review to survival gear reviewer to cook. I like the cook part best.

averageiowaguy пишет: @jlr0506 Properly cooked bacon makes me feel a little dramatic. Thanks for watching!

Warescrackdown пишет: @averageiowaguy Good music choices too, fits the outdoor themes well.

scdefion пишет: Looks great. I am a hopeless carnivore. I wouldnt have been able to resist putting ground sausage or beef in it. Keep em coming.\r

averageiowaguy пишет: @teddytarp Yeah man! Have a great campout! Wish I was going there.

TheSmokinApe пишет: Man that looks good...

averageiowaguy пишет: I'll be up that way eventually.

scdefion пишет: @averageiowaguy Bacon is good with all most everything. I get some thick sliced hickory smoked bacon at a country store that is better than almost anything Ive ever eaten.

skoko1945 пишет: drool!

averageiowaguy пишет: This is likely a combination of FLIP video with Canon 5D Mark II

averageiowaguy пишет: @scdefion There is a smoke house down by Ethan Becker's house that is really good. I make my own bacon from our Iowa farm hogs.

averageiowaguy пишет: @teddytarp It's all pretty unpredictable. Ambient temperature plays a role too. Maybe I'm just not that good with a Dutch oven yet. :*(

cottonwoodscamp пишет: More good stuff for me to try, thanx for the inspiration.

Multi-Tool School пишет: Mr. Iowa Guy, I would say you are above-average! As a matter of fact, you are indeed a Dutch Oven Jedi Master, sir!

averageiowaguy пишет: @jlr0506 This is more or less the egg casserole they made us on the last day. I didn't remember it perfectly because I was pretty beat up when we ate it.

teddytarp пишет: @averageiowaguy Don't want to sound negative. You're teaching us a lot of great stuff. You've got some of the best videos around for where my interests are right now. I'm taking your tips on my next campout to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Michigan and I know we'll be eatin' good at one of the most beautiful places on earth. Blessings

averageiowaguy пишет: Yes. His video series 'In the Bush' was what got me started making videos. He reminded me of my grandfather and I thought about how cool it would be if I had video of my grandfather doing stuff like that. Then I remembered that I would have grandkids one day and there wasn't any video of me. I try to pay tribute to Malcolm Douglas whenever I can in videos.

averageiowaguy пишет: @scdefion Sausage would be good in there too. I have this home cured bacon though and an itch to eat it all up.

do any smokin...bacon, ham, turkey, etc.

averageiowaguy пишет: @Warescrackdown Thanks a ton for watching! I just put up what captures my imagination at the moment. I hope it is at least somewhat entertaining.

teddytarp пишет: My Dutch Oven cookbook recommends for moderate to hot cooking temp. in a 12 inch DO, try 10-12 coals on top and 8-10 on bottom. Seems like it would be easier to adjust the cooking time then to keep changing the coal count.

averageiowaguy пишет: @dodisman They really aren't that hard to use. It just takes a little practice. The mistake I made when I started out was to put too much heat on the bottom. Most of the heat should come from the top. The other mistake I made a lot was just using way too much heat period.
